Organic vineyard
The 30 hectare ecological wine estate of Can Gelat is located near the picturesque villages of Selva and Moscari, at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains (Unesco World Heritage). Because of the mountains and the ever-blowing breeze, the vineyard is naturally cooled in this Mediterranean climate. When driving through the beautiful landscape of Mallorca you will find the estate as an oasis of peace and privacy with beautiful views over the island and the sea. Being ecological As part of the VI DE LA Terra Mallorca and Mallorcan CBPAE ecology qualification, the grapes are grown organically without the use of synthetic pesticides or herbicides, while boosting soil fertility and vineyard biodiversity. The pristine soil is kept healthy by planting a mix of ground covers every year. It attracts beneficial insects, improves soil structure, prevents erosion, retains groundwater, increases organic matter and soil fertility. Fig, olive, apricot and carob trees and Mediterranean herbs in and around the vineyard provide protection of the biological habitat. And as part of Refugi de Fauna, the environment is respected, which is the basis for making beautiful organic wines and olive oil.
